JOURNEY AROUND THE HERITAGE OF THE RAMPARTS (1/8)
Dom-Bedos Public Garden

The Dom-Bedos public garden corresponds to the area between the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, the Conservatoire and the Sainte-Croix church. Redeveloped in 2006, its appearance has completely changed. Rue Peyronnet, we can see the remains of the former city ramparts, modified in the 16th century. The double facing is marked by an extra-muros effect. The ring of walls defended the parapet pierced by openings for bows and arrows, and canons. On the garden side a magnificent fountain was set up by the Benedictines in the 1730s.
