Museum of Natural History
Bordeaux's Museum of Natural History, one of the first to be created in France in 1791, has occupied the Hôtel de Lisleferme since 1862, originally built in 1778 by Richard François Bonfin.
Currently closed for renovations, the Museum will reopen in 2014.
Thanks to an innovative museography project, it will bring pleasure and convenience to the public, and preserve its collections. A new exhibition sequence, emphasising the heritage value of the collections and documenting the maritime history of the City and the richness of its hinterland, will contribute to educating citizens about new environmental issues.
