Michel Desvignes, a landscape artist, wanted the continuous green horizon line from the quays to contrast with the more barren left bank. The plan of the Parc des Angéliques picks up the fragmented industrial shapes of La Bastide, in order to bring in the history of this area and to create an atmosphere of its own.
With the new botanic garden created by Catherine Mosbach, the industrial wasteland of La Bastide takes on the appearance of a green city once and for all.
