FROM ONE BANK TO THE OTHER (2/8)

Passerelle Eiffel footbridge

The Passerelle Eiffel played an important role linking the railway facilities on the two banks. Charles Nepveu was charged with its construction in 1858, but it was Gustave Eiffel, site manager, who gave it his name.
Approximately 500-metres long, this girder-bridge is remarkable due to its foundation system and its partially conserved decoration.
